Suraj started off his career as the coach of Salsette FC, Mumbai, India where he took the third division club in the Mumbai Football League to the Super Division with three back to back promotions. He was also an assistant coach in the I-league 2nd division at the time. Looking for a better learning opportunity, he completed his coaching badges from FFA, Australia where he was presented an opportunity to work with Manly United Football Club, Australia.
During his stint at Manly United, he was approached by Manly Vale Football Club, where he incredibly managed to promote them to the top-most division in the Manly Warringah competition in the first full season in charge.
He was also an observer of the selection process for the Australian under 17 national team in 2019 before the AFF tournament. He was immediately acquired by Devonport Strikers after the success with Manly Vale to manage the Australian second division side in Tasmania as the first team coach as well as Technical Director of the club.
Meanwhile, Suraj qualified as an assessor for FFA-AFC C and B license courses and delivered community coaching courses in Australia. Thus, with an experience as a coach within an amateur to a professional environment in senior and youth football and as a coach educator for the past 10 years across Asia, he brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience to Young Guns Football Academy.
